Help with Raid5

    Hello all,

I have just tried to Raid5 5Tb (5 1Tb drives). I am using a PCI-e card, the Silicone Image SLI3132 mulitport SATA card.

This card allows me to have multi drives on one channel, the card has two channels and I intend to use the other one to Raid5 5 500Gb drives.

Anyway, I cant raid the drives via the cards bios, it will only do Raid0 and Raid1. So I have to use SATAtools from silicone image.

It took over 30 hours to Raid5 the 5Tb.............is this normal?

Now that it has Raided the drives the show up in the software as all being well, however they dont show up in my computer.

I have tried formating them, one of them will but the other two wont, one being a RAW drive.

So I guess what I am after is some guidance on what to do from here...........Do you have to format after Raiding?

Does anyone have any idea where I am going wrong?

Should the drive once Raided correctly show as one drive in Windows?

My motherboard is a P5W DH Deluxe Asus
    CPU is a e6600
    2Gb of ram
    5 1Tb 340274 Western Digital Caviar GP 1TB
    5 Seagate 500Gb drives
1 Mtron 32Gb SSD (with Vista installed)

Any help would be great guys, this one has me stumped!
