Dunno about things closed over Easter, maybe google the city council website or something?

I was there last Christmas for the markets and I thought it was really nice. Great thing about Brussels is that there are several great day-trip options: I would highly recommend Bruges but there's also Ghent, Antwerp, Leuven, etc!

You can cover Brussels (the main stuff) in a weekend. They have great beer and chocolate shops, that's what stuck in my mind :D I also enjoyed the Jacques Brel museum and trip to Bruges. Brussels won't blow your mind but it's well worth a weekend trip, hope this helps :o

I've been in Brussels a few times and I'd highly recommend it. It's a lovely spot. I was there at Easter the first time I went and it meant that I got to have a love Belgian chocolate Easter egg! The chocolate is lovely. I can't remember if places were closed on Good Friday or not. I'd recommend a trip to the Walibi theme park just outside Brussels - If you buy the ticket at the train station with your train ticket it's really good value. The Marriot hotel near the Grand Place (could be on Rue Ansbacher?) is really nice.

Going to Brussels for few day soon.
    Flying with Ryanair.
Hotel is in the European Business district.
Any idea what's the best way to get to and from the airport?
    Both flights are early a.m.

    Thanks

Got the Eurostar to Brussels a few weeks ago on the spur of the moment (was already in London). Didn't like the city at all - admittiantly we just did a bus tour but nothing made me want to get off anywhere and explore further. Took the train out to Bruges which was great and really enjoyed that. Brussels probably a good base for day trips to other places.

Probably the worst place I've ever been in mainland Europe. Absolutely nothing in it. Do yourself a favour and catch a train to Paris or Amsterdam.
