Region-freeing in Leopard?

Anyone know of reliable firmware to region-free a GSA-S10 (What is this DVD-RW? Who makes it?) under Leopard?

Curse these regions. Anyone who likes Bollywood, obscure Tasmanian and Taiwanese and Colombian films is in trouble.

Try VLC media player for your DVDs, it won't make your machine region-free as such but will play DVDs from all regions as well as most other audio/video formats under the sun.

depending on your Mac's drive the region lock can be at the firmware level... so VLC may not even work...

It's my experience that the region business happens when you put the DVD in, not when you open DVD Player.

Damn, damn, damn - I suppose I'll have to buy a cheap old DVD-RW and de-region that. Just when I thought I was getting rid of all these bloody objects. Stuff! Stuff!
