    Hi
Basically a friend of mine has a part time contract with this company. the minimum hours per week are 15 in the contract, but every week he's only been workin either a sat or a sunday. the contract is only for one month so he's not complainin but i definitely think that the company are breaking the contract there. he was also never told his hours for next week in advance and although was supposed to get paid weekly, they only got around to paying him this week (he started working with them start of february).
his contract ends this weekend, does anyone know if he can do anything about the fact that they didnt give him his min hours?

    thanks

I have been in a similar situation. He should have mentioned it at the start, that he wasn't working his minimum hours. He CANT claim anything now.
He really should have said something to someone, especially about the pay. They still paid him in the long run.

He should ask the employer for the money that he has not earned through not being given the minimum number of hours ( after he has been paid off, of course). When this is refused he should go to a Rights Officer under the Payment of Wages Act.
