This was just on the news here. Cements the fact that this movie is sh!ite.

Dozy film-goer left in the dark
    The Press | Friday, 07 March 2008

A Christchurch man paid the price for dozing off while on a date with his wife last night.

Radio reports say a husband and wife were at the film PS I Love You at Hoyts Cinema in Northlands Mall, when the man nodded off.

His annoyed wife decided not bother to wake him up at the end of the movie and went home alone.

She woke at 3am to discover her husband had still not made it home so rang his cellphone and woke him up.

The man then set off the mall's alarm system when he tried to leave.

Radio said police arrived to find a very embarrassed couple.

A police spokesman said it sounded like a case of "husband neglect'' to him.

A Hoyts Cinemas representative could not be reached for comment.

One person fell asleep and it becomes a boring film?

    Strange.

My other half has fallen asleep while watching almost any film you could care to mention, including all of her favourites. They must all be boring, then.

Just to clarify, I haven't read the book, and I ain't watching the film, ever. The OP's premise is ridiculous.

Pighead fell asleep whilst reading this thread. Does that mean this thread is boring?
    Yes, yes it does.

Implies: ellenmelons premise is spot on. Bravo ellenmelon.

It's not evening, and I'm not pompous. How do you get pomposity out of that?

It is a silly premise: one man falls asleep, ergo the film must be boring.

ellenmelon, how are you? Pighead would advise you to edit that post quicksmart. Slow Coach part owns this site and is known to get a bit angry when people call him pompous. He's banned about 4 people this year alone who've called him pompous.

For what its worth Pighead agrees with you but sometimes you just have to keep schtum and let it ride. Pigheads PM box is open if you want to call him pompous in private. Anyway if you edit your post now you'll probably get away with it. Talk to ya later elly.

Too late elly, he's here.:( Maybe an apology can save you. Good luck sweetcheeks.

If its anyway near as bad as the book was to read then it must be a big bag of ****e :(

Im never one not to finish a book when i start, but it went against every grain of my being not to throw 'P.S. I Love you' in the bin before i got to the end!

I kept thinking SOMETHING big or interesting MUST happen in here at some stage... But No, it just petered out the way it started.

It was SO badly written too, usually i get engrossed in a book with great mental imagery being conjured up due to skill full writing, this was as bad as a leaving cert essay.

Indeed, usually there'd be some cleaning done after the movie.

it's evening where i am. a heck of a lot more people are saying the film is tripe than saying its good.

i think they are as it is 'being investigated' which translates likely into 'heads shall roll!' as there are mostly high school/uni students working at cinemas here and they get the rough end of the bargain a lot of the time. to be fair though, they really should have realised he was here..maybe they cleaned around him, thought he would wake up and leave and forgot about him.

I have to agree with Slow Coach, sure alot of people don't like the movie but the fact that some random dude fell asleep in the cinema doesn't automatically make it a bad film or cement the fact that you consider it to be one. From my own experience my old man falls asleep during tons of films regardless of what it is. The only fact that can be derived from this report is that his wife wasn't the nicest for leaving him behind her! That was just mean!

The film IS boring. I stayed awake, but only because I was in the cinema.
Had it been the DVD, sleepyland would have arrived after about 20 mins.
Ok the OPs story may not prove so, but very few people will argue otherwise.
In fact, I'd go so far to say as BBBBertie struggled to keep his lids apart.
If she wasn't AHERN, her book wouldn't have been half as successful and probably would not have been made into the film.

Haha this reminds me of a funny incident a few years back. Me and the ladswent to watch the Pirate of the Carribean and snuck in a shoulder of Bacardi each and a few beers(We were 17-18 and a little silly ;) ). One of my mates that was a light weight went to the Jacks and passed out.... he woke up in Dun Laoighaire IMC in the toilet pitch black at 3 am in the morning. He set off all the alarms and if anyone know the back door he pushed through the fire exits and legged it. Got such a funny phone call after with him panicing and out of breath. He didn't go abck for ages!
