Control of internet by a parent

    I was asked today what is the best way that a parent could limit the sites that a young teenager could access on a family laptop. And also if possible could a timer be setup to control the amount of time that is spent on the web that perhaps disconnects from the net after a certain time, to help curtail the amount of time spent on the net.
    I didn't know what to suggest so that is why I am posting this here, any suggestions on what they can use. They are using Windows XP.

    Hi, there is a program called netnanny that you can get that provides parental controls for the computer. Link below

    I found a handy way of blocking in-appropriate web pages by using opendns on your network, more on adult filtering here.
