Does this need a non standard shaped battery?
Got the CA CA8-2 Today its driving me nuts trying to
get a standard mini battery into it. Cant get the handguard back
on. Am thinking this may need a stick battery or the likes.

The pin to release the handguard was so stiff I needed to take a
Leather mans tool to it as I could not remove by hand.

Super Super bit of kit but needs a bit of work. The One I saw in MIA
at the Toys for Big Boys show looked a wee bit better as if it was done
up a little for the display or the mold lines were cleaned up.

The optical scope is a little bit disappointing the quality is not as good as
their AUG optics. Great rate of fire. I tested it without the handguard.
MY GOD! the BB's hit exactly the spot I was aiming at almost each time
    straight out of the Box!!!!!!

EDIT: FINALLY nunchuck battery eventually fitted what a bitch to get it.
Mmm got to find an Irish store that sells these.
Pics and review will follow in the morning I LOVE this Bit of kit.

Man i hear that, the pin the handguard my one is a pain in the ass too, i had to fiddle around with it for an hour to get the hanguard on! yeah the quality is not great those mold lines are annoying (thinking of getting a new handguard)! Only diffence is mine doesnt seem very very accurate for all the internal upgrades, what do you be shootin at and how far away is it? do you think its worth 370 euro for what you get, man?

I got one last Saturday from MIA (the one bullets had his eye on, we discussed it here afterwards) - it is a great piece of kit, but I have to admit that I haven't used it yet. That will be this Saturday. But the quality is great, it has a long tight-bore barrel which I believe is great quality, and it should be accurate.

It takes standard mini-type batteries. I bought two good, high-capacity betteries from Derek, to be on the safe side. And the guard is a piece of work to get on and off, I gather that the same is true of all the G36 family of AEGs. Best to charge and fit the battery the night before a day's skirmishing I'd say (which is why I got a smart charger and I think it'll pay for itself in time).

@Grayfox: I'm still a n00b at this, but as far as I can tell, you can pay a lot more for less - it's intended to be accurate for sure.

ye wot?? How the heck did you manage to get a mini batt in ?

I spend ages today trying to get one in. I also tried the stick battery
from my SCAR before finally getting the split/nuchuck batter from my
    M4 CQB into it.

Well airsoft stuff's accuracy is Sh1te in general in my opinion but thats
the real steel shooter in my talkin. As AEG's go this one is fairly accurate
compared to some of my others. Its right up there with my M14 and FAL.
Maybe accuracy is too strong a word to use. More like the point of impact
is more consistent on this AEG than some of me others.

I was breaking clays (from clay pigeon shooting) from my kitchen to the
end of my garden which is about 10m

Just did it there a minute ago, because you had me worried :) Took about 5 minutes for both the SL-8 and the G36C, and the SL-8 is indeed a bit more finicky; you have to arrange the cable (I'll probably tape mine to keep them in place), and try not to slide the guard off completely. You don't need to. The tolerances are pretty tight so care and good placement are crucial to a smooth fit.

I don't know anything about real steel, but... A 6mm plastic pellet at 100m/s isn't supposed compare to that, is it? ;)

To be fair i still have to test it outdoors, and only fired it inside...about 6 metres which it obviously hit the mark but the rifle is heavy to hold( i was standing ) and i hardly think im gettin within 6 metres of anyone (actually, lovely that theres a full auto feature)! i just bought a stick type battery for this i hope it will be less grueling to fit this!
