It would be illegal, which is why Bootcamp prevents you from using a disc that is intended for use on a particular brand of PC - you have to have a Vista disc that is generic (and costs a lot more)

type17 a bit of mis information there,

it's not bootcamp that will prevent the installation it's usually the disc as the disc checks to see if it's being installed on the pc it was sold with.

Fair enough, but the result is the same - you have to have a non-OEM disc (which is really annoying  )

im looking at a oem version of vista premium on komplett for €99, seems very cheap would it work for me?

i understand that oem is meant for builders & offers no support or fancy packaging but its way cheaper than buying a retail verson which makes no sense to me at all!!?

OEM discs work just not one you get from the likes of dell/sony/toshiba as they are all recovery discs and not the actual os discs themselves.

you are better to use the correct disc as it will be free vendor specific drivers even though it may work.

I got the impression from the OP that he thought that BootCamp itself is illegal. It's not.
