    Hey guys,

looking to listen to some stuff on radio one's (uk) website and it says i need real player. Is it possible ot get a real player codec for quicktime or do i need to download real player itself? Anybody use RP? Is it any good? This would probably be the only thing i'd use it for so not sure its worth a full download.

Never seen a RP codec for QT. Doesn't mean one doesn't exist. I just downloaded RP, the only thing I use it for is the RTE website. It's a much slimmer app than its Windows counterpart (which I recommend avoiding like several plagues) if that's what you're worried about.

Realplayer is a piece of s**t but it uses a proprietary codec that needs RealPlayer to run. So yeah you need to download Realplayer. Make sure you get Realplayer 10. There's a beta for 11 but it's a joke.

I believe the BBC website gives you a choice between listening to the radio in either Real or Windows Media. Why not use the latter? You can install Flip4mac and listen right inside you browser. There's also the BBC Radio widget but it uses Real and is very unreliable.

What's bad about it compared with v10? I'm not suggesting I'm a fan but have found myself using the flash vid downloader a good bit. I like it more then 10 by a long way.

I don't want it to have library features like it's windows counterpart so I'm pretty happy with it's capabilities.
