Looking to move my music onto a sort of NAS (Popcorn Hour) - I will be able to map network drive to this device

My iTunes library will be on a Laptop connecting to network via wifi
My music will be stored on the NAS (wired to router via Homeplug)

Does anbody forsee any problems before I move my music off my full laptop drive?

I imagine syncing will be slower

There can be some issues syncing iPods with libraries that are not locally hosted.

The library would be locally hosted (the xml file) on the laptop, but the content wouldn't if you know what I mean?

I do, and that can cause issues.

    Was that becuase of wifi???

Once I get the stuff onto this networked device - I would only imagine that I would be adding an extra album each time I sync iTunes with iPod

This was largely over wired network connections, so Wifi had nothing to do with it. You might be ok with small syncs, but I'm just warning you that you might experience issues with the sync. Its recommended to keep the music on the same hard drive as the iTunes library.

I know what you mean - but music collection is getting too big for my 60gb laptop

Would I get same problems with USB external hard drive though?

    Thanks for advice Aidan!

Probably less likely to suffer times outs if you use a USB2 drive than is you used a network drive, though its still possible you may see some issue.
