Hey, I was looking at my sister's house yesterday, she wants to get a FTA box or something in, she has a sky dish so i said i'd have a look to see if it was still hooked up & wired & stuff...

Dish looks ok, the wire runs into the house and down next to the telly, but there is no connection on the end of it (it's been cut).

What can i do? Would i have to get a new cable? Or just a connector for the bit that goes into the box and just wire it on ?

You just need what's called an F-connector for the end of the cable which goes into the receiver. Easy to fit, as you just twist it onto the braid, leaving the central core exposed a couple of mm. Have a search around the forum for satellite stores in the .ie domain ;)

I'd imagine most electrical retailers should have twist on F-connectors too.

PM me or phone me and I would be happy to crimp an f conn. on and check the signal, gratis ( if I'm the area.)

If Rippy is not in the area, just google fitting an f connector, really simple to do. Whereabouts are you in Cork?

Make sure you buy the correct size plug.
