    Lads,
i bought a semi acoustic off thomann there a couple of months ago. It is lovely. Everything was great. anyway, I've changed the strings and the action has gone really bad. Up the neck is unplayable. The new strings seems to have pulled the headstock away from me if you know what i mean. Is this because the trus rod is not set? Has anyone had this issue with a brand new guitar? I have alan keys but i dont want to just go and abuse my guitar. If anyone has encountered this please giz a shout.

    thanks
    David (Gracehopper)

Sounds like you put on heavier strings than you took off. You just need to tighten the truss rod. If you don't know how to do that just google it, there are hundreds of guides on guitar set up which will cover the subject. Take your time and understand the concept before you do it. It's unlikely to happen but you could **** the guitar up properly. If you're not sure, just bring it somewhere to be set up, it'd take about 10 minutes.

I put on martin regular strings. Not sure if light ones were on it before. I'll take my time with it.

    thanks for the advice.

What the doc said. If you're not feeling too confident get a proper tech to do it. You can learn better off a person imo too, so any set up stuff you need to do after you could do yourself. That's what I did with my first floyd rose adjustments anyway. Was terrified to go messing at it, but now it's a piece of p155!
