    EDIT-see bottom

Last night I put a bid on an item. I was only interested since it was going cheap, it had post of 99p from the UK to Ireland, I specifically checked it a few times, it was 99p international signed for. There was 15 hours to go.

I just checked now and it has increased to £4.99. How can they do this? Surely it is against the rules? what is to stop them increasing to £100 and holding me to the contract.

I realised 99p was low (pair of shoes) and thought it was just to attract buyers, like "free postage" deals.

My bid was £4.99. So now it seems they can just almost double my bid with this sneaky move.

Anything I can do? I thought they couldn't do this in the first place?

EDIT: SORRY! I now see it is £4.99 within the UK but 99p to Ireland. Might be a mistake but I presume I can hold them to this. I checked and he has a few other footwear items priced like this, some are then £4.99 UK £7.99 europe. He is a proper powerseller so should know what he is at.

Definite mistake, you cannot force the seller to sell

Well it seems to have gone through alright. I checked his completed listings and he had some on offer during the last month the the cheap postage. And like I said he has more on sale at the moment at that price. Once before I asked a UK guy for the cheapest post to Ireland and it was cheaper than his UK price. But £5 to £1 is odd.

And as I said he is a powerseller, so not some newbie making a mistake, esp. as he seems to do it a lot for whatever reason - I'm not complaining.

And you seem to know your stuff in other threads, can he refuse a sale? So if I sold something and it didn't get a good price could I simply claim my post was a mistake? many offer free post, (though more charge a fortune for obvious reasons, I usually search for high post costs actually)
