Chorus service in Naas

I'm just wondering is anybody else enduring the same "quality" of service with Chorus in the Naas area.

Two weeks back during Liverpools first leg against Inter Milan, there was no signal. Not a thing, even analogue wasn't working. We had to get a rabbit ear aerial from upstairs and watch it that way.

Last night, the image was... let's put it this way: there were 44 players on the pitch for the Arsenal V AC milan game.

    Unwatchable.

Switching over to analogue - and things were fine, but obviously the number of channels available was restricted.

Checking the details on the digital Chorus box revealed: "Signal Too Low".

So tonight, grabbed a few beers and switched on the Chorus box.

    It's dead.

It's trying to boot, but in vain.

    We get:

    88:88
    Red Light and Init
    Then blank

Then the the whole thing repeats.

    This is really unbearable.

Seems to me like a terminal problem with the box tonight, rather than a signal issue like before - but I'm not fully up to speed with how these boxes work. Maybe there was an automatic firmware update that didn't work?!

As regards the signal issue, I'm just wondering whether - somewhat like the internet, there is a bandwidth issue, and with all the tv's looking at the various games, the signal gets distorted during periods of high demand?

    Any clues/advice?

    Cheers

the chorus system in Naas is very erratic.

i've had the system for 2 years (digital ) and Analog for 3 years previous to that. You'll get no joy out of their "customer service"

My advice get rid of it and move to sky. I'm changing over in the next week.

I'm in Monread and have no issues at all, it went for a couple of mine maybe twice in the last month but otherwise no issue, i did have an issue with my broadband that i had to solve myself by using opendns. Not sure if thats a Monread only issue or my block.

The chorus network in Naas will be fed by the ntl network in the coming months. It should sort out the stability of the network.
