Hey Guys first time posting here.

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direstion here. Friends of mine have recently purchased a small nightclub and are looking for a cheap way of keeping the club cool on busy nights.

I have seen a system in Marquee where there is a big nylon tube with air been blown into it running the whole lenght of the building which has holes along it and the air comes out all these holes and keeps it cool.

Does anyone know of a system that can be bought like this which would be more durable maybe made out of steel tubing but of the same principal.

    Thanks in advance.

    Brian

I think you're talking about duct socks http://www.ductsox.com/

They can be made out of nylon or even light plastic. I can only assume the nylon systems would be very durable, otherwise they wouldnt be used in permanant systems! I saw a plastic temporary system a while back. It had alot of rips in it but the high flowrate of air managed to keep them inflated and the system did work although it was noisy!!)

The whole idea is that they are cheaper and easier to install than a ducted ventilation system (steel tubing).

IMO I dont really see it as a cheap option either. Also installing it is only a part of the cost of these systems, running the system can end up costing just as much in the long term so make sure its done right!!!

I think your best option would be gettin some DX units (split direct expansion units) (next time your in any newsagents look up, its the big usually beige square thing with all the grilles you never noticed before). Putting a couple of these in key locations (eg behind the bar/centre of dance floor).

Either way your gonna need a company to do it, theres no real DIY way to do it on a medium scale.

Sorry if my post is confusing im quiet tired. Hope it helps.
