    Hi guys,

I would really like to welcome all Irish airsoft fans.

I live in this beautiful country for about a year now, but status of airsoft here is still a big mystery for me.

Back in my country it is absolutely legal to possess an airsoft rifle without any permissions (above 18 years of age) as long as you don't show it in public and use it in areas restricted from public access.

From what I know it is legal to have this kind of "toys" in Ireland, as long as it is < 1 Joule in power.

I have a P90 that has a measured 330-340 fps 2 years back (the spring is probably much weaker now, so it is probably lower than that).
Beside that I have a gas operated blow back metal beretta replica, which operates at about 320 fps.

I would really like to run in the Irish woods and have fun as I used to have back in my country, but I am not sure how problematic (and if possible) it could be.

I am wondering if I could have issues with

    1) Transporting my equipment to Ireland
    2) Using it in Ireland (need to register or something?)

Could someone give me any advice and tell me if it could be problematic?

By the way, I live in the western Dublin area, are there many "meetings" organised around here?

    Thanks!

Once the p90 is below 328 fps with a .2g bb, you can just post it to yourself in ireland, as alot of people still import their airsoft gear.

    Thanks for the info.

Should I downgrade the AEG before I send it here or can I do it in Ireland, once it arrives?

defo downgrade it before, it might still be a little hot., you could just remove the spring altogether and then get a legal one from one of the irish retailers when ya get it here.,

also, it shouldnt be used in the woods, if you mean any randon quiet piece of woodland. you need to use it at a site or on privat land with permission

Hoi! I took the day off work thankyou very much, to plaster... its done now... so now I'm on here :D

On topic : Yeah you will have to skirmish at one of the registered sites, they have threads on this forum, hrta is the easiest to get to from dublin.

Well, I intend to use it with others so I presume, somewhere it is legal to have fun with it.

I am wondering about just bringing in my equipment here and buy AEG here.
I really like the P90 setup I have back home, it was multipurpose beast, I could snipe, CQB and do regular assault (even if it is just a small P90) :)

Hope I will manage to organize everything before holidays and go hunting with you as soon as possible!

plenty of places to buy hee in ireland and you can still buy from hong kong if you want and have it shipped but you will have to add shipping and taxs onto the price.
also loads of sites to play at. hrta/drogheda airsoft/ g-tac/gorse hill and CTS (???) to name a few. other very much larger sites in the north aswell.

Oh for a second there I thought you took the day off to come on boards. :D

Good thing about sites in Ireland is, no matter where you are in the country your more than likely less than 3 hours from a airsoft site.
