Morning After Pill

    hi guys..

Yes, yet another topic on the Morning After pill! I posted here about a week ago "The Morning After The Night Before..."

Anyways, the guy I was with - total fool - haven't heard a peep from him since and well, I'm late now too so I have a horrible feeling that the morning after pill didn't do as it was supposed to :(

I'm not majorly late just yet - only 2 days - so would love to hear from others who have taken the MAP - afterwards did your period come on time, early, late?

I'm sick with worry yet again, I have no-one to turn to for support or reassurance - the guy involved suggested "A quick kick and punch to the stomach" as an alternative to the MAP as I was waiting to be seen in the clinic, so there's no point telling him.

I know, I know I should take a test.. but I'm scared it'll be too early for the test to show anything - it's only been 7 days or so since we had sex so I may get a false negative.

Would love some feedback though from others who have taken the MAP and see how they fared :)

    Charming guy!

As for being late, the MAP is a massive dose of hormones, so it can well throw your regular cycle out of whack. Additionally, you are stressing, further interfering with your regular cycle.

Ultimately, the only way to know for certain is to take a test.

AFAIK there are tests available that indicate early pregnancy, so get yourself down to your chemist and ask for the appropriate test.

    Best of luck

    +1.

I've taken it before and it's come a week late so try not to stress about it.

Dont worry about it. imo thats whats causing your period to be late! As the first reply said, massive dose of hormones etc.. not only that the fact that you've been effectivly waiting/stressing for a week before your period was even due, can cause it to be late. My gf has it every 28 days like clock work. She had a stressful 3 weeks with college and family issues causing her to be 4 days late. She cried almost every day she was over out of fear of being pregnant (i dont want her to be either).

Now the weird thing is, im a complete freak about this sort of thing and shes usually cool about the matter. The second we 'do it' for the first time that month, i go into panic mode.. but for some reason i knew she wasnt preggers and managed to calm her down.. when she finally calmed down, it came!

My advice is to take what ever steps you need to take, go to a clinic etc. The main thing is not to worry tho, as hard as it may seem. This sort of thing happens all the time!

Worrying is like a rocking chair - it gives you something to do but gets you nowhere

    RELAX

The MAP has different effects on all of us!! when i took it, i was in absolute agony for about 3 days and then got a really heavy period which lasted longer than usual!!

If you can try and relax and forget about it, if you cant do that, take a test. you'll probably laugh at how you got worked up over nothing!!!

Easier said than done but try to relax as the stress will make your period later..chances are that it worked & its just the horomones thats keeping your period late, try not to worry & let us know how everything works out for you. As for "A quick kick and punch to the stomach" what kinda guy is he? Insensitive or what??

I have taken it a couple of times and it works, once u took it with the correct time. It wrecks your cycle and its normal to be late after taking it. The stress is adding to it. Chill out if u can, it will come!!

As for that guy, you had a lucky escape by the sounds of it..

that guy sounds a real jerk, so much for someone whos supposed to be a friend!!

as others have said its normal to be late due to the stress and the hormones. when i had taken it my period was 3 weeks late afterwards. it is a worry but its also normal

+1! I had a scare similar and the pharmacist recommended First Response pregnancy tests, they can be used from up to 4 days before your period is due. I think Clear Blue can do that too now, and they do a digital test too, which spells out the result so it's easier not to be confused. Especially good if you're stressed out taking it.

I took the MAP once before, and was late with my next period, so don't worry, but to ease your mind, take a test. Try and relax also, maybe take a nice, hot bath every evening, some bubbles, candles etc., might help the onset of your period! You'll never be so happy to get it!!!!

MAP makes you period really strange. I hardly had one when I took it and it was three days late. It usually comes every 28 days, Tuesday at lunchtime.
