First Arts Question

Luckily I passed all my exams for Semester 1 in Arts but I have a question if someone can help...

In the handbook it says that students Semester 1 and Semester 2 results are combined to give an overall result for the year and this is given out on May 20.

So say that I pass with the two results, but I fail the second semester module - does this mean I still have to repeat the second semester module? Or does compensation come into it from the first semester?

For example I get 65 in my first semester module of History, and then 32 in the second semester... I would pass the year for that subject with 43% .. but would I have to still repeat the second semester?

I was wondering about that too. What do you mean when you say no?
Do you mean no as in you wouldn't have to repeat or no you would have to repeat.

I think it depends on your department. as far as i know all the faculty require is that you pass your subject, at least that's what the documentation says. what constitutes a pass is then up to the department. i could be wrong on that but i vaguely remember being told in first year economics that we would be the first year required to pass all our modules to pass the subject.... whereas i don't think that existed in IT from asking lecturers about it subsequently...
