I thought it was well known that he sold a large % for the 2005wsop, didn't roy brindley write about it in one of the articles he wrote about him?

I'd imagine after that he had 100% in all the events he played.

no real reason.. was just talking about it last night with some mates and we were wondering how much of the 1.7 million he actually would've got because we presumed he was staked in it

he also got a sponsorship deal prior to the FT, which was probably worth a few quid (branding FTW!)

He's an excellent tournament player who has done very well for himself. Assuming he invested some of his money wisely he is surely set for life at this point. And good luck to him - as he came across as a nice fella on the couple of occassions I spoke to him.

    +1

I'm not questioning any of that

"I decided to sell about 33% and I mentioned it to a few people and the main shares were snapped up in twenty-four hours y all the shrewdies who had known me for a while......so a lot of people had shares in it and I ended up committed to giving way $600k of my winnings"

Andy Black discussing his WSOP 2005 experience with Des Wilson, taken from the book Swimming with the Devil Fish[p238]. I think anybody that was around the scene at the time pretty much knew this anyway. There was really no great secrecy about it Lloyd;)

    Grand stuff Connor. Cheers.

No prob m8. Primary sources are invariably the easiest ways of clearing up disputes over facts and figures.
