garmin city navigator europe 2008 woes

    i have 2 gps units. i previously bought city navigator europe ver 8 with gps unit 1. i was able to unlock a second gps (unit2) to that version free of charge. which i have done.
    the same applied to version 9.



    now im told with city navigator 2008 is that i can only unlock the primary gps unit to it in an upgrade, and can no longer unlock free of charge a second gps unit...

    problem being i no longer have the primary gps unit...

    looks like i have to go and buy a full version of the city navigator europe maps
    if i want to put it on the second gps!


    what a bummer!
