phone line?

    i have a question about sky+. i am getting it installed on monday and know i need a phone line which i have, only thing is that there is only one phone line in the house i have a cordless phone and my eircom bb on that line.... will this be an issue as i don't see how the installer will put in another line for my sky+ box ? any suggestions ?

    the line is only really used to order premium content. You can connect it up on the same line as the phone and bb with a splitter, as long as your not ordering anything it wont matter that its connected.

    Is it true that if you are ex-directory that sky can not check to see if you have a phone line conected to your sky+ box:confused:

    if you insert 142 in a box in the installers menu it will send your phone number

    so if i just connected the phone line every now and then and did then i wouldnt need it connected all the time:confused:

    You only need to have your box connected if you are within your first 12 month contract or if you have multiroom, ie more than one box on the same account, if you are outside your first 12 month contract and you are upgrading to sky+ there is no need to have connected to phone line if you only have one box.

    You may get away with connecting up and dialing into sky every few weeks if your box needs a phone line connection, in the end it would probably just be easier to do a permanent connection.
