I doubt it. I'd say a 9600gt would outperform them and would work out around the same.

9600 would be faster i think. And the same price:

But it's twin 512, and that must be higher than the 512 through the 9600?

I think with sli because both cards are working on the same frame they have to have the same things in memory

Go for 9600gt, 8600gt is a rubbish card, a joke of one actually! Fine for basic gaming but 9600 outperforms it loads... SLIing them wont make much difference, especially as nivida are so slow nowadays at creating new drivers,

A single 9600GT will decimate those cards, not only is the 8600GT a low end card, but those are DDR2 to boot, which is even worse. It's a no brainer to be honest. For a tenner less, you can get a vastly superior 3870 from Dabs. Infinitely faster then 8600GT sli and slugs it out with the 9600GT generally.

The 9600GT works well in tandem when SLI'ed with a second one - averaging 182% efficiency over a single card according to one benchmarking test. [Source]

Good to know that it may be worth you're while buying a second one down the line.

You could actually get one from Germany delivered for the same or less than the price of that one on Komplett - even though the delivery charge is €30 afaik. [Link]

Nice, XFX one for 137....even with the delivery it almost works out cheaper then the cheapest one available from any Irish retailer pre delivery charges...(think the best I saw was 161 exc. delivery)

Great to see Nvidia are back to the 6600GT/7600GT days with this one.

I would go with the 9600gt as well... Get the Point Of View 9600GT from ebuyer which is for only € 146, it's almost 30 quid cheaper than Komplett !!

Whats the shipping cost with them?

It's around 13 euros for the graphics card. You can check the rates at http://static.ebuyer.com/customer/help/index.html?action=c2hpcHBpbmdfbWV0aG9kcw==
I made a huge order from ebuyer few weeks ago, i got a case, gpu, cpu, mobo, psu, monitor, ram, speakers etc. it was really heavy and i paid only € 30 for the shipping and i received my stuff in 4 days.
Ebuyer shipping prices are competitive but also the prices of components and other stuff seems to be a really good value if you compare them with Komplett.
