simple answer is you should spend the same if not more than the rifle, so for foxing a variable up to 12 power is sufficient, so you'll be looking at Schmidt & Bender, Zeiss, Swarovski. These are around 1,000, UK is probably the best place to buy with the current currency situation. If your budget doesn't stretch that far buy a Leupold VX111 from the states, 3-12x50 would be a good setup, oh and also remember to get good mounts too.

You see and I've said it before, 1000 looks like a lot now but you only need to buy it once, it will last a lifetime and you'll always know its not the scopes fault if zero is not consistent.

This is especially important with fullbores, not so much with a .22.

Do VSSF 2 come in 220 swift? Didnt think that they did! Great rifle either way!
If your on a tighter budget then a bushnell or AGS are ok but nothing like nightforce, S&B, Zeiss etc!

Swaroski, Schmidt & Bender or Nightforce would be my top three picks, not in any particular order. I got a Nightforce 5.5-22x56, If a Swarovski had the same reticle I'd probably have gotten one but it didn't.

I use a nightforce on my 243 and a swarovski on my 223-the remmy swift is a nice rifle and it deserves good glass-its time to reach for the plastic:D

its probably down to personal preference....but i like my nightforce ,great reticle and 32x magnification is great -can use it to spot bullet holes when
    target shooting.

supposedly the nxs model which is the nightforce extreme scope is of
a higher build quality, being subjected to more rigourous testing in order
to be able to funtion in the worst possible conditions ie ; extreme heat cold , better light transmission and a build quality that can stand the toughest recoil, its also supposed to have better thermal stability so
    it holds zero really well.

Thanks for the advice and information so far lads.
Got the gun secndhand(about 50 rounds gone through it as far as I know) It comes with a T8 fitted, harris bipod, picatinny rail mounts ,slijng and chekpiece. Cost €1800. so all I have to do is buy the scope and I don’t want to mess it up.:(

damo, i have a remy .220swift in a VSSF-2, unreal accurate. excellent choice of rifle!!! i had a Nightforce NXS 12-42x56 on mine, with a range finding recticule on it.
i cannot fault the nightforce, amazing scope, build quality is second to none.....however, the 12-42x is way too powerful magnification. i got rid of it, and ill probably get another NXS in 5.5-22x mag.
i also have a s&b 3-12x50 zenith on my 6.5x55. great tough scope too, but the NXS is just that little be different, its a real sharpshooters tool, if you can, go for the night force, in 5.5x22 mag, and you can choose your recticule too, if your ordering it from the company.......you wont go wrong with a NXS,,,,,,thing is, with any glass, you get what you pay for, so my advice is dont pass on getting a good scope, your remy dosent deserve it!!

I have to agree with Tac 12 -32 way to powerful for foxing (I presume ur foxing with the swift) as when Charlie sticks his head out of a ditch at 50 yards away ur buggered trying to find him, even if you turn the power down to 12. I find 4 to 16 an excellent power range for hunting.
