    I have been happy in the few city central places I have stayed - though warning regards the harbour, you may be woken by the siren at stupid times in the morning..

    Depends on where you'll be working, its not advisable to be working out east of the city while commuting from the west and vice versa. Anywhere just west of the river in the city centre (eg Claddagh, Dominick St area, Lower Salthill, Taylor's Hill) is pretty nice.
