    Hi,

If you have a 10 wait between flights is it possible to leave the airport so can come back later instead of sitting around an airport for 10 hours.

I will be flying with the same carrier if that makes any difference should it be best to ring them and see what they can do?

    Thanks

Normally no. Once you arrive in the airport where you have 10 hours to kill you either collect your bags and check them in again or with some airlines your bags are handled for you. You normally can't leave the airport which would force you to recheck in again.

Though I'm not 100% as I rarely take collecting flights...

That's *always* the best thing to do :p

It depends on where you are..... in any EU country (assuming you are an EU citizen) it's not an issue to leave the airport....

I've done it a few times in Copenhagen, wasn't an issue, but just make sure that you don't stray too far!

    I'll be in Bahrain.

I'll give the airline a shout

We recently transferred with Delta in JFK, didn't seem like it woulda been a problem to go wandering had we got the time.

I went walk about (8 hours) in Singapore last year. No one complained. Don't know about Bahrain.
If they don't let you go out (and presuming you flying econ) then investigate buying lounge access to have some extra comfort. Its well worth the money.

Shouldn't be a problem, in some airports you can even get a tour around the city if your stopover is more than a certain number of hours. I think you can in Singapore??? 10 hours would be a long time to be sitting around an airport. I'd still ring your airline if I was you, and I'd check if there was somewhere to leave your bags - you don't want to be dragging them around with you for 10 hours.

They is no problem leaving the airport so long as you have the appropriate visas to enter the country in question.
