Can anyone recommend a good quality synthetic four stroke engine oil and where I can buy it in the Dublin area, I dropped in to my local Esso station and they wanted nearly €20 for a litre bottle, seemed a bit pricey to me. thanks.

Car drinks more oil than I'd like and when I discovered it's drinking problem, I ended up having to by a total of three 1l bottles from a forecourt €16 a go. I bought a 5l can the next day from motor factors for €23:rolleyes: Black gold indeed, especially if you're buying oil out of hours.

    what bike is it for?

Remember, car synth oils are different to bike ones - they are laced with low friction additives. However, bikes have their clutches running in the engine oil, and the additives can affect it. Moral: use motorcycle Synth oil, not car synth oil.

Any bike shop should have it.

Halfords do Castrol bike oils fully and semi synth (power 1). I got 4L of fully synth for about €45 around 4/5 months ago. They sell it in 4L and 1L bottles.
When in the shop its not kept with all the other oils, its in the "motorcycle" section.

Check the castrol website for whats recommended for you bike.

And no.. i dont work for Castrol OR Halfords... :D
