Anybody think that there is a point of opening a small airsoft shop in Kimmage?

I already have a large premises and there is a small area available which will be perfect for a small shop.

    Let me know.

    Tnx!

It'd be nice to have a physical shop on the civilised side of the city :)
Seems to be a fair number of airsofters living around Templeogue, Dundrum,
Rathfarnham, Tallaght and Churchtown. Plus with Gorse Hill opening it'd
be convenient for last minute resupplies.

live in crumlin myself, just around the corner from me

i'd probably buy from a shop that close, but only if the prices were competitive

what is currently in your large premises? is it something that retailing airsoft alongside would make sense? or is it something completely unrelated?

any idea what you would stock ,
id love to see a shop on the southside ,
but look at the guy trying to open up in bray coming up against a lot bad publisity and considering the area your planning it might not be a good idea,
kimmage has some well known criminal elements based there,

but dont let that put you off,

Sorry I can't say where the large shop is, but it's near the KCR ;)

Would be stocking all sorts, mainly branded, and a few clones.

Kimmage is in Dublin 6 west, near Harolds Cross etc.

Only problem at the moment is sourcing stock, otherwise, it'd be a go-ahead.

prices would most deffinatley be competitive if the suppliers can be found.

completley unrelated, but has a seperate entrance for the small part, so there would be no problems.

This is a business decision and should be trated as such aswell
if you are opening a shop theres a lot of competition out there and with the web aswell it wont be easy
I personally would take it very cautiosly as there is a limited market for airsoft with a very good supply

I reckon there's enough space in the market for another retailer - especially
one that's focusing on quality clones as well as the higher priced items.
I'm not interested in a shop that's selling cheap Chinese gear at mad prices
but some of the clones are giving the likes of TM and CA a run for their money.

The main problem with current retailers, insofar as I see it, is that it's pretty
hard to know when they'll have stock in Ireland. It's still early days for
airsoft in Ireland and it's still growing. It'd be great to be able to call into
a shop where you can handle the stock before deciding whether it suits
your needs. At the moment I don't fancy having to drive across the city
for a skirmish on the off chance I might spot someone toting an AEG or
piece of tac-gear just so I can see it before I order.

The best advice we can give you is to stay as far away from the main streets as you can, we are quite hard to find for some people but we still get our share of undesirables, if anything can ruin this sport, it's too many undesirables getting their hands on this stuff and acting the p***k or worse.
I spoke to a member of Justice last week and he told me as much.
It is hard to think that from a business point of view, you could sell maybe 5 times more than you can from an industrial estate, but you will have no future on a main street, look at the UK, they are all in industrial area's.

dont let the area put you off, why should airsofters suffer because there are some "bad apples" in this area

It's a society thing. In France they're mostly on main commercial/pedestrian thoroughfares (of the Grafton St sort) with no issues. Then again, there's no red tops or easily-led politicans / easily-impressed public there. So... meh :(
