On my uncalibrated monitor the girl's face looks a little too dark and soft. The darkness can be corrected by adjusting levels but the softness can't - how about making it even softer and going for a creative effect there? And the girl's eyes seem to be going towards a slightly strange focus point (would have loved it if she looked at the dog).

    Nice photo overall though.

How could i make it softer?
Maybe this pic is a better option

This is something like what I wanted to convey (I only spent 2 minutes with this in Picasa not photoshop so it's very "rough" but hopefully your get the idea)

Of course other people may not like what I've done:

    Before:

    After:

That ethereal glow is something I find in a lot of portraits, not sure if I'm fond of it though but I think in your case it's a good compromise.

Maybe a B&W conversion may help too...

Click on the thumbnails to see the larger version (the "glow" is more obvious in the larger pic)

Here is a B&W conversion of the pic:

I find that the focal point seems to be on the dog rather than the girl... maybe you could have left a bit more head room on top?

Again I have to state that this is a very quick draft of what I had in mind (and I wasn't using the proper professional tools in going about it - Picasa is a free download from Google by the way) but maybe it's of some help?
