I work for a well known retail company who pay by the month. I do part time hours. I cut my hours back in September to 16.5 and still got paid for 19. At the time I did not honestly realise this and it has only been brought to my attention today. The company want over 400 euro back from me, which is nearly all my months wages. What is the best thing I can do, can they demand it all in one go?

Unfortunately they can..... I remember same thing happened to a friend of mine.. They deducted it from her salary. Talk to someone, maybe ye can come to an agreement on how to pay the money back

They are entitled to get their money back, but it is unreasonable of them to look for it all at once. You can come to some arrangement with them to pay it back on a monthly basis.
