In the middle of typing an essay, and some parts of it there is a faint blue background? COuld it have something to do with a small copy and paste job I done? And how do I get rid of it.

Change the style of the part you copied and pasted to match the rest. Actually re-reading your problem it's probably best to copy and paste again but this time 'paste without formatting'.

Cheers. By actually highlighting the affected areas and then going to font and "clear formatting" it gets rid of the blue.
