personally i dont like people over-using the word 'love'. It can lose its value...so if we aren't actually in love yet, what should we say to a partner that we really like?? i know that some people are scared when they're told 'i love you'...whats the general opinion?

If you know a woman and after 2 weeks she tells you she loves you...
You need to change your name and the locks on yer door too.

If you're with a woman and after a year, she cant express "love"...
    Stop calling her.

Yeah I can't really manage this "I love you" thing. I keep getting it mixed up with "Hello".

Fair few girls scared of me at this stage.

    You had me at "hello"!

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

My boyfriend told me he loved me today after 6 weeks....I really like him but wasn't ready to say it back yet....que the most AWKWARD moment ever!!! Ahhhh I'll be cringing about this for a long time.

6 weeks...bit soon no?? Was with someone before him for 6 months and never got it from him.

Don't know if I should be happy or scared....

You should be scared as he'll probably be embarrassed and get rid of you pretty quickly.

6 days/6 months/6 years, whatever, people fall in love at their own pace.

My experience would make me wary of anyone saying I love you too early. Either they don't know the meaning of the word and mistake it for lust or infatuation, or they do mean it, but are emotionally incontinent. Both bad. The latter is worse in a bloke. "Sexism" bedamned, I reckon that a man should be more measured about such things.

I have also found people who say I love you very quickly tend to fall out of love just as quickly. I'd say 6 weeks of normal dating type stuff is too early. Not saying it after a year of a relationship is equally daft though.

or Your ma! Whom I don't love........

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Wimmen need to realise that any use of the "love" word once the compass is pointing north is fairly irrelevant ... as, indeed, are most words we might utter at that point!

It is probably overused and shouldn't be said until you really mean it.

Can't remember how long I was with my boyf when I told him I loved him. I think was 3/4months. But he said "no you don't! You couldn't love me yet!" which was a bit weird... A week later he said he loved me!

    Men...

I think if you mean it then say it. I don't think it's over used in the 'in love' sense...

what I don't like is when it's over used in the family/friends sense. i.e. when hanging up the phone - 'see you later Mam, I love you' - what's that all about?? maybe I wasn't hugged enugh as a child - lol:D)

Bah Humbug! I tell my family that I love them everyday because they are the best people in the world and they should know that I appreciate them.
