Time Machine keeps telling me there isn't enough space on the disc to perform the back up... I had it set to copy over old backups but it seems to have stopped doing this.

Anyone any ideas why it wont back up???

How/where did you do that ? My machine will create a new backup to the external 250GB drive until it's full. I assumed that once this happened I'd have to delete some of the backups myself. Not sure I'd like it deleting them itself though.

I've got this error a few times as well. I just click ok and ignore it and it seems to backup ok the next time. Seems like a bug.

I think the option was there before they relesed that leopard update... At least I think it was, maybe I imagined it. I just excluded a load of folders, am only backing up the documents folder as its the most important....

Had to manually delete all the older backups...

I think the option is offered the first time TM runs out of space on your backup drive.
