    Probably wrong forum, But would love to work on a fishing trawler, complete career change, looked on bim website, 45 fit, would relocate, any ideas anyone ? Mods move this to jobs etc, seems all the jobs in there involve suits ! Any ideas anyone ? Thanks. M

    Cousin of mine went off to Alaska after watching "Deadliest Catch" - believe it or not. He had no experience before in the fishing industry either.

    He had no problems finding a job and makes really excellent money there.

    Havent heard from him in a while but he found the agency on the net somewhere who got him the job. He left after 6 months to go to another boat and doubled his wages.

    He's a tough guy though. I certainly wouldnt be able for spending weeks at a time in ships in storms and freezing weather, hauling smelly fish.

    Probably not the best time to try and get into this line of business with the decommissioning of a lot of trawlers due to EU restrictions.(I think that's the reason anyway)

    Money can be good.. but really hard work / lifestyle
