A campaign to get re-sizable tables on ipoker

So most of us on here play on i-poker at different levels and most of us multi-table up to 16 for some but yet we still have only 2 table sizes to choose from which is crap. I hate the mini view so instead I have up to 9/10 full size tables on my laptop screen which is 1920x1200. This means at any 1 time I can't see 4 tables at all. Another handy thing would be the ability to have more than 16 tables open at a time for data mining purposes.

I think it could be worth emailing all the different poker skins that we are on and asking them when they are going to bring in this much needed feature. I for one have loads of different skins and am going to get the ball rolling by sending an email to:
    Paddy Power
    VC Poker
    Carlos
    Titan
    GJP
    Noble

If we all started doing this maybe then they will take some action, it can't be that hard of a feature to have in the software. If anyone else has any ideas please add

I think the rate at which they develop fixes for their obvious flaws is such that this feature will be in place around the new millenium.

I remember at the time of the ipoker take over when the guys from the various networks came looking for feedback one of the main things that came out of those threads were resizeable tables.

Here we are over a year on with another thread that will kick up a bit of a fuss only to be ignored once again by that customer centric network ipoker.

telling ppp or any ipoker skin that we should get resizeable tables is aking to telling a skydiver to wear a parachute.

resizeable tables are on the dev list, it is a long dev list, if i could prioritise it then resizeables would be top of the list. At least once a week i do ask for an update on its progress. The next release is due for end march and resizeable tables are not part of that release.

Not to hijack the thread but are there any plans to improve the note taking facility?

what would you improve on the current syetem? I actually quiet like the current system but would like if there was alot more space? are you talking about color coding etc?

Well its good to see that you are chasing them on it anyway. I do realize that it will probably take for ever for them to do it something that they should be putting into their next release. Sending emails admittedly probably won't make a whole lot of difference but it might help a bit. The only way that they are going to improve things is for players to speak out, from simple things to sending emails all the way to stop playing on the site.

The thing is that I don't want to leave the network as I have a huge database of players on it, I have a great rake back and bonus deal and the site is soft enough imo and most people probably feel the same way.

Anyone fancy going on strike for a day? I'm serious!! If they had a day where half their regular players didn't play for a day then maybe they would start bringing in some changes faster. Sounds a bit crazy but say if only half of the regulars didn't play for a day then they would lose out on a fortune in rake as they are mostly going to be multi-tablers and there skins are going to be extremely unhappy at loss of customers for the day.

Its probably going to be what it takes for them to prioritise this and the other changes that players want. Basically only thinking about this as I type it but if you spread this to other forums and people were willing to do it for a day then maybe things will happen sooner. After all we are the customers and we pay them enough every time we play in rake we should be getting more back from them.

there isnt enough space and the box is too small so you cant read the note as one, sites like FT or Prima have a much bigger popup box as exmaples

lol, how long did it take for them to solve some really minor bugs! This is a relatively tricky issue I'd imagine so I think you could be waiting a while. ;) Also I think all of the skins at this stage are aware of the issues, so it's really just up to the software guys at Playtech to sort it out, wouldn't hold your breath that it'll happen anytime soon. If I was a gambling man :p I'd back mid to late 2009. If it happens in 2008 at all I'd be nicely surprised.

It should open up a separate window that you can fill in at your leisure. I've lost count of the amount of times that I've begun to take a note after an all-in, only to have the losing player log off, leaving me unable to finish it.

Less important is the size of the box itself, which is far too small, any sort of detailed notes you have requires you to scroll down which is generally interrupted if you're playing 10/12 tables.

+1 on that. Note taking facility is really poor
(Although I will likely just use HM note facility now)

how do you take notes in HM?

On top left of Hud box, there is a + symbol. Click on that once and box will appear. It's basically a copy of prima pretty much, just like opening notepad.

Can you tell us what's on the dev list, or what has priority? can we expect faster tables any time soon?

To be honest even if ipoker improved the note taking i would still use HM, ipoker notes are held server side so when you move networks or change usernames you lose all your notes. For anyone that dosent use HM theres a handy application called smartnotes that allows you to take detailed notes, it has some flaws but its miles better than whats their and HM will be adding a feature to allow importing from smartnotes soon.

I particularly like the way its impossible to take a note with 6 or more tables running because of the infuriating focus stealing; the 30 second episodes of lag-freeze are fun too. iBolide version 2 pretty much negates any downside to the miniview and I don't mind it too much now at all.

Fair play Noel, obv you realise any of these suggestions are fantastic, so give it a shot with chasing down iPoker to implement updates!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,201 ✭✭✭Macspower

A boardsie was writing a new note taking program a while ago... hope it's coming along nicely....

In order to make i-poker playable I had to invest in loads fo bits and pieces that shouldn't be necessary.... I wastched a friend play the other day without any mods and it was painfull.....

Any idea whats in the next update and whats in the furure plans? some investment please from i-poker would be nice consdering the rake we pay

what do you mean by "mods"? like a widescreen monitor? or software..?

I invested in a 21" widescreen monitor and im still unhappy with it, next time I'm going to fork out for an even bigger one. I can only display 4 ipoker tables, which still overlap slightly

I'd say he means hard and soft ware, biggerscreen, card and table mods, eyepoker etc

yeah 24 inch monitor to get less overlap when multitabling... iboilde so i can see the cards ( shouldn't be necessary) auto reload and betpot scrips which i paid for mods to and note taking programs.... to mention a few...

Also will someone please ask for the expand table button to be placed in a menu and not stuck on the table as a button..... anyone who has hit it by accident while multitabling and hitting a set will now what I mean...

Speed of the tables needs to be increased as well... way too many delays.... try prima for example and you'll see what I mean... 20% extra hph...

resizeable tables is the biggie though.... just played on stars there for a while and what a great site/software... i-poker take notes

prima can be a bit mental though speedwise. I actually like iPoker speed for multi-tabling. It gives you a chance to evaluate better imo.

does anyone else ever have a problem where you can't reload on a table despite being below 100bbs, instead the software keeps giving a message that you have the max allowed at the table?

I've never heard that one before.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,286 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

Yeah that happened to me regularly when i played on Ipoker PL.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,083 ✭✭✭RoundTower

if you go broke it prompts you "you dont have enough chips, do you want to buy more?" but you can never actually buy them in time for the next hand. You have to hit "buy chips" before it prompts you and you can sometimes get them in time, then you get that error message when it wants you to reload again and doesn't realise you've already reloaded.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,894 ✭✭✭✭phantom_lord

i always top up as soon i make the bet to make sure I'm full stacked for the next hand.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,286 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

No im talking about where you're topping up after the blinds go through you or making a cbet or something and it wont let you top up at all, for several rounds of the table at times. This used to happen to me quite a lot, very annoying.

I get that every now and again. It's a bit annoying, but sure my table selection is so bad these days that I'm usually just lumped with a load of shortstackers so it doesn't matter much :P

I haven't done the maths but I think the -EV of having 95bb instead of 100bb is absolutely minute. Strange how some people are completely obsessed with it though.

Surely, it is then a good thing that iPoker don't have this stuff? It gives you a competitive edge over people like your friend ...

    very good point.

I like the software (wierd as I am) apart from the default buy-in being 20 big blinds. I'd love youse to give whoever thought that one up a good kickin.

There are some cosmetic differences in the note taking box between skins. My site recently decided to make the top half of the note taking box kind of whitish yet still see through - so now on miniview I can't read the top half of the note boxes in certain seats because it clashes with the name on the above seat. A good day's work for whoever made that call.

Apparently iPoker is getting a revamp before summer:

    http://europe.cardplayer.com/poker-news/article/ipoker-software-to-improve-by-summer

If it's significant enough to tell Reuters i'd guess it's more significant than a general upgrade?

no, they're probably just going to fix the bug where after you disconnect all the tables come back exactly on top of one another.

Of course, with any other site, you wouldn't see this bug very often...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,563 ✭✭✭sikes

and the millions of clicks of OK you have to make as it goes on about how great it was that it was able to remember where you were playing
