if he lifts his hands up and stops the showboating nobody could touch him.

Ill go with the hands-up theory.
He's short too 5.5" ..... but yeah dosent he look classy !!
It's the Cuban way , tradition .... putting them so far ahead of the rest of the world. For such a disadvantaged country , people wonder how they constantly produce such talent.
One must remember of course , that most of their talent never choose to defect , and never fight professionally.
I love everything about the Cuban system !!! Money is always the biggest problem in boxing today,.... some of the best match-ups never happen cause people cant agree on a purse etc. ... promoters always on the rip off , tv rights , ppv , then you got the Money Mayweather selling his fame on a circus event, and dancing show etc.

    sorry, about the rant.

He's the best prospect in boxing and will beat Chris John(an elite fighter who is the best Featherweight in the World) .

The low hands thing may seem a little worrying but the more he gets hit the less you'll see of that and his chin seems pretty solid so he probably isn't going to be ko'ed stupidly for doing it .

Him v Chris John will be one of the fights of the year and I reckon it'll happen within the next 6 months .

Gamboa was only thought of as the second best amateur defectee from Cuba , however Guillermo Rigondeaux was caught and brought back to Cuba and unfortunately can no longer box , so we can't even see him showcase himself on the amateur scene .

Your dead right there Guillermo Rigondeaux is probably the best amateur boxer ever his record is simply unbelievable. What a talent it's just such a shame what happened to him, he was probably the biggest puncher in the amateur game aswell.

When I heard Rigondeaux was defecting I had mixed emotions as although I wanted to see him more regularly (ie. as a pro) I also had slated him back in 2001 to be the first to win 4 Olympic golds. I watched almost every fight at the Worlds in Belfast that year and felt Rigondeaux should have been given the Best Boxer award (although Kindelan wasn't exactly undeserving).

Unfortunately he's now in no-man's land having been deported back to Cuba and being punished by not being allowed to box.
    Shocking waste of talent !!
    Such a beautiful boxer !!

Rigo has possibly the best footwork of any boxer I have ever seen. It's simply unreal....He's a fighter who seems to do little, but always stays a step ahead of the opposition. He doesn't over exert, but simply does enough and more to win. What a talent.

I heard Gamboa actually jumped to Feather, from Fly, to avoid Rigo....

Gamboa was IMO the figter of the Athens games. He was outstanding.
Non stop puncher with skill and a fantastic variety of shots....

Apparently he went 142 consecutive fights without a loss,
He'll be coaching some time soon I'd imagine, his punishment was not been allowed to represent Cuba again. Fair enough., he's not going to jail or anything.
As far as I know he was deported for over-staying his visa ,... not caught and brought back !! Its not a terribly hard thing to defect from a communist country ! you'll be accepted a lot easier as a defectee than if you were a genuine refugee .
It's a political statement against the communist states.
There are agents and messengers getting in and around Cuba's top athlete's luring them with the western life. Shame on them .
It's almost the last place in the world where men compete for honour primarily.

Im tellin you now,...Boxing is getting more and more like WWf and fictional hollywood. it'll soon have freak shows , with competitors running in with capes and the likes.
Thats what young american kids are attracted to,... and with money being the sole objective, boxing will turn that way.

There is no reason why a system wasn't introduced allowing Cuban fighters to fight 'professionally' without jeopardising communist beliefs .
Being controlled under state 'contracts'(which is presumely what they already have while fighting as amateurs) while fighting as pro's would of been more than feasible .

But then again maybe that would of taken the Cubans advantage away , no disrespect meant to the country that produces so many great fighters but their medal count is obviously severely increased from the lack of fighters turning pro and it is often grown men , who are pro's in everything except title taking on young prospects(from countries where fighters turn pro) yet to develop fully physically or talent wise in International competitions.......greatly helping Cuba's success .

I see they have given Gamboa another tomato can of an opponent, the 25-0 Marcos Ramirez
