Antique Fishing Rod

My dad has and antique fishing rod, it's a 17ft, 3 piece, salmon rod by Bowness and Bowness of the Strand London. It has an unusual feature, the eyes hang down. I've done some googling and some of those rods are worth a lot, however i cannot find any info on Bowness the rod makers. If anyone has any info/advice or can point me in the right direction (i.e. identifying the rod, how old, its worth etc)that would be great!

Thanks for that i'll get my da to have a look!!:)

Funny enough, I found the Bowness name through google searches, they did either manufacture or retail rods, but when i emailed an antique fishing rod shop i found online, he hadn't heard of Bowness.
(The rod has Bowness&Bowness stamped on the butt, with a stamp of a fish)
