Hey guys has anybody any experience with SCAR's? Shiva has a CA one @475.00 yoyo but also has G+G at 350.00, plus a VFC at 370.00!! I have to say I do fancy one of these and I know some of you lot think their fugly buy you've got to admit their a bit different. As well as that STAR have released one with a CNC reciever, not to familiar with em but a bit saucy price wise at 720.00 U.S. so a question for ya, any pointers and general advise from owners of them.:)

Well I know I probably speak for two VFC SCAR owners (myself and Cplcummins - Neil) that I am very impressed with it.

I was at hrta today talking to Area51comando? and he has a VFC SCAR also but said it didnt work - but didnt know what was wrong...

The manual says to use between a 9 and 12 mini battery! I've only used the 9.6 and the rof on it is excellect (about 925-950rpm). The build quality is superb also - have a look at the reviews on ARNIES to see it and the CA.
I've had no problems with it whatsoever - dont think Neil has had any either.
I think all have CNC receivers. but not 100%.

Both the VFC and CA would make a good purchase in my opinion. I'm sure the G&G and STAR are equally superb quality.

If you want to get a closer look at the VFC - let me know and I can give you a run through at HRTA or where ever...

I'm actually considering getting another - to pimp and paint:D

(well, I can dream cant I?!):D

Wow, and I thought there wasn't many of us SCAR people!! hey Bullets was that a JLS 02? I've found one of those and tempted by the price of course(i'm broke!)

Also it seems the VFC has some followers, so its between the VFC and the G+G.... Also I've heard the cheaper clones use stick battery inserted from the front, what does the VFC and G+G use?

Cant say for the G&G but the VFC uses a mini in the stock. It's not connected by wires to the receiver, rather it uses special contacts allowing the stock to be folded for CQB - without worrying about stretching wires n stuff It also comes with an extra CQB barrell and is presented in a very tough plastic case (just ask Gatling:p - nearly broke his foot:))

I've seen the JLS and it's a bit uggghhhh, finish wise - compared to the more expensive ones:p Neil bought one of these at first - had to have mods to it and had alot of problems. Ended up changing it and getting the VFC.

    Never looked back since.:)

Now we're getting somewhere. A spots and all opinion, cheers Defenderdude, always liked the idea of a contacts solution to messy wiring, it shows advances in the thinking and design. So VFC leading the field at the minute and this extra CQB barrel makes it all the more enticing!! (iceage goes of to count his airsoft/cider/holiday savings!);)

I'm not sure how difficult it is to upgrade. It's really easy to break down and I suspect it should be quite easy to work on. I've not upgraded anything, infact I havent even opened it up yet.

I'll probably just keep lashing the bejaysus out of it until it starts to give me problems.

I'll go do some looking into it!

infact -I've just looked at youtube and saw one firing at 1756rpm. Holy shi7!

There's a load of links about the VFC there - worth a quick search!

1756 RPM.... holy crap:confused: must be plugged into the mains:p
