Wouldn't it be great if UPC supplied us with the default BBC and ITV London stations as extra channels. There is only so much of Sportscene and Newsline one man can take.
I absolutely hate it when they opt out of the UK results service on Saturday at 5:00 to go to NI Sportscene.
Also when England and NI are playing at the same time, I would have a preference of watching the England match over the NI match.
Come on UPC, you know it makes sense.

It makes perfect sense and it means no crappy Town Challange type programmes too!

Nothing more disheartening then checking the listings only to see a new series of Have I Got News For You is on BBC NI at midnight rather than 9-10 pm. Plenty of other examples like that.

Traditionally, and still in most cases people do want the cousin's NI service rather than the more foriegn mainland ones.

If you want a choice get a FTA satellite system, no sub needed either.

I hated the opt out on Grandstand when the BBC was encrypted on Sky. Cable in Dungarvan offers both the NI and London variants on BBC One and Two and also ITV1 London. They don't bother with UTV at all. I hear no complaints from anyone about it.

Who would make complaints to a cable company that does 20Mbps!

Me, I am only getting half the advertised speed. Humbug

Yes, I agree with this idea as it is unlikely that they would have the capacity to carry all of the various regions like Sky. The London regions are the network.

They would be great as extra channels, but not as replacements for the NI versions. Its nice to hear what is going on in Northern Ireland from a northern perspective. Plus would miss Give My Head Peace (although that has finished now anyway, I'm sure there will still be repeats from time to time...)
