Does anyone know where I can get this variety of wine in Ireland? I would like to get it for a specific recipe. Or could any greek cooks suggest an alternative?

Mavrodaphne is a really good, sweet red wine. 64wine in Glasthule has it--definitely worth a try!

In cooking, any soft red wine (e.g. a Beaujolais) and sugar would do, I'm fairly sure.
