just noticed that rte are not showing a live match on wednesday but setanta are showing two. a look at rtes website shedule also confirms they will not be showing a live match on the next wednesday night either.
has something happened and setanta are have go exclusive live wednesday nights from the last 16 or what?

Setanta have been showing two games every match night this season but it is strange that RTÉ are not showing any games. All games to be on pay tv it would seem.

think I just found the answer to my question. maybe rte are giving up this wednesdays live match in favour of the match on the tuesday night between liverpool and intermilan which is not normally on. they are limited to 25 matches so probably would have to not broadcast live on the wednesday to cover the additional game on tuesday the 11th live.

This would be the reason. Due to the two Milan teams fixed to play on consecutive nights, and the Italian police don't like this, the Liverpool - Inter game is fixed to Wednesday night has been shifted to the following Tuesday, and, as its would be RTÉ's fixture of choice that Wednesday night, they've kept that part of the agreement.

Similarly for UK viewers, ITV would normally have first choice of Tuesday night fixtures, but as this is technically a Wednesday fixture, ITV don't have dibs on it, its still Sky's to show.
