Hey, is there any decent alternatives to Adobe reader? Whenever i open a pdf file, and especially if it's in a website, it's painfully slow to open... Is there a (free) product that would be better & faster? All i need is to be able to read pdfs, not interested in creating them or anything...

BTW, I'm on vista (if that matters)

I think Foxit is exactly what you are looking for.

It's free and uses a lot less resources than Acrobat.

Foxit is great. Sumatra is another alternative.

Foxit works pretty damn well. I really don't understand why adobe reader is always so damn slow though.

Cheers, downloaded foxit, seems good... Did a quick test, i have a few bus timetables stored on laptop, they are simple 2 page pdfs, i opened one with adobe, then straight away opened another with foxit, and foxit was open (more or less) instantly, i had to wait like 7-8 seconds for adobe to open. Which is pretty class when you consider the document was so small...

    Thanks again...

foxit - it's like 20% of the size of the monthly acrobat security patches

you can speed the adobe bloat ware by not pre-loading all the extra junk and plug ins and ad ons
IIRC you clear out a folder

Another vote here for foxit reader. It's great. I'll never use acrobat reader again.
