codec's

    i want to put videos taken from a sony ericson phone and put them together with windows movie maker but it says they wont play because im missing the codec, i understand why but how do i fix that. they open using quick time but not in windows movie maker.
    any help is appriciated

    If you install quicktime alternative, WMM may recognise the format. I don't know how quicktime installs, don't use it much. It's possible it doesn't register the codecs with windows. You may have more luck if you look for a mov->wmv/avi converter.

    wmm won't play 3gp apparently. i'd say the best way is to convert the videos to avi first and them wmm will recognise them. google 3gp to avi converter. i use xilisoft 3gp converter but its not free
