His company has released a statement stating that Coddington was "a long-time diabetic" who "died from complications that were brought on from a recent surgery"

I liked his work but tbh never really found the discovery shows interesting, leaving that aside though his cars were cool

    Very sad news.
It's probably not fair to judge a man solely on a highly edited (and highly enjoyable) tv series. AH didn't always show him in a very good light but he was obviously a passionate and talented man who seemed to have a good heart - kudos to him for the 'warts and all' approach. I know there were stories about him not always paying his suppliers and employees. Can the margins in his business have been so tight as to justify all those crazy build schedules, or were the schedules tight just to enhance the show's drama? It's all academic now anyway.
Apparently his image took a nosedive in the latest series (probably not shown here yet) with the sacking of Liz Miles at the behest of his wife Jo.

Here's one of his coolest creations, the 'Alumatub':

    RIP Boyd.

Not much interest in cars and only recently got interested in the show, some great work. Rest in peace.
