Does anyone remember this deodorant? I think they're was some kind of advertising campaign for it in the mid eighties, maybe on tv or just in magazines? A friend of mine bought a bottle of recently and I didn't think they made it anymore, can someone explain why this name so familiar to me?

yeah was there a soap called that too? the new opel/vauxhall car coming out is called insignia.

The €2 shop in the square still has them but the packaging has been updated.Maybe its still sold in some countries.

It also still sells Brut. I picked up a large can of aftershave foam for that brut smell!

This has been in my head since the weekend for some reason.

I am trying to decypher the words from the ad and I can't get one part.
Here is what I have so far..

I used to wake each morning
Really go to town
Here and there, with different smells
You know when I'm around (is this right???)
But now there new Insignia
And it's all over now.
Insignia's got everything
shampoo and shower gel
Deoderant and after shave
With one all-over smell
It's new Insignia
And it's all over now.

Now if I could work out WHY it was in my head!!

I have to admit I've occasionally thought of that ad and the song. I just googled it - I never knew it was a cover version and that Bobby Womack and his sister wrote it! Link
