    Hi,

just lost my ipod virginity with an ipod classic. I don't like the way itunes re-arranges your music into different files and goes onto the ipod.

So, is there a way of dragging music folders onto your ipod and they will stay in the same format as the way they are on the "My Music" folder on windows?

Please tell me there is because i really hate the format itunes uses

    Thanks

    nope...

    cant be done...

you can use another bit of software like MediaMonkey instead of itunes...

Only option is to use some software that will mount the iPod like a disc, and you can access the files as you normally would on any mounted drive. At least this is how it works on Mac, but Im sure there is a PeeCee equivalent.

The music will still be organised by ID3 info though right Katie? Which I think is the core of the OP's organisation problem...

Sorry yeah, my bad. I read this post last night and intended to reply. When I replied today I was thinking of another post, should have re-read.

    Don't quite understand....

It can't be done....but it can?

Will MediaMonkey re-arrange any of my folders like iTunes will? And will it mirror this on my ipod interface?

Can't find these specific answers on the MediaMonkey site.

    Thanks for advice

    no it can't be done.

You can use a programme called MediaMonkey to fix your tags if they are being messed up in itunes but the format itunes uses is what you are stuck with.
