Forced overtime for people on hourly wages. Is this allowed? Management are imposing an OT requirement for my team. On the contracts it says that OT maybe required...

    Any thoughts?

Is this the new job? As far as i know it's voluntary

OT may be required as long as it suits both parties

    Am checking www.citizensinformation.ie

It's my current employer. We are a call centre so emphasis on answering all calls. Therefore management want to make all team meetings outside normal working hours (9-6) so the team would have to come in 8:30 Friday in the morning biweekly. This probably wont be a problem for some but I'd just like to be prepared if they don't take it well. It's a 40 hour week already...

If contract says OT may be required then it may be. At least you're getting paid hourly which I assume means you'll get paid for the OT. I work about 9 hours OT every week but it's just considered part of my contribution to the job. no extra money.
