Well..has anyone ever been? It looks like we will be going there for 2 days of tackyness during a NYC trip. So if anyone has past experiences of the place, hotels etc that would be great, also looking to find the best way from NYC to Atlantic City. Thanks for your help

yeah been there, very poor mans las vegas if truth be told, doesn't hold a candle to the mecca. Along the boardwalk is really nice with the sea and the 10-12 or so mega casino/hotels, but the rest of the town (just to the back of the hotels) looks like a bomb has been dropped on it. be very careful not to wander too far from the main strip as crime and poverty in atlantic city are among the nations highest despite the town only having about 50,000 people.

Borgata is the mega hotel in atlantic city, it is owned by boyd gaming who operate out of vegas and it is run like a las vegas strip hotel with nightclubs/top class restaurants and numerous other attractions. you can't miss it, its the giant bronze hotel http://www.theborgata.com/

if you are not into gambling you will hate atlantic city, unlike las vegas there is nothing to do in AC but gamble

there are loads of buses leaving from port authority bus station near times square to AC http://www.virtualnjshore.com/actrans.html

you will get $20 to do as you please when you get to AC just change the voucher at the cashier
