Feb 29th. Your Idea's to make it Great.

Feb 29th comes but once every four years. In hospitals all over Ireland little babies will be born with a handicap of a birthday that will enable them on their 84th Birthday to truly be "21" again.

So with this special date in mind I was thinking we should have unique rituals to celebrate this. As a salaried employee I am aware this is one extra work day a year that technically I am not getting paid for. The irony that today is "work life" balance day does not escape me either- have a free muffin, thank you boss, have some free labour, you're welcome.

So I would like to hear unique ideas that would make Feb 29th eclipse that simple joy of a child at Christmas.

My idea is a celebratory "thinning of the herd". Each person in the country gets one vote on the person they would like to see exterminated. Three votes and you're out. Think Derek Mooney is annoying........ annoying enough to give him your ONE vote then. More annoying than Dana even? Oh the debates up and down the length of the country at closing time. Feb 29th would be something to savour.

We could dream of entertaining ways to kill our hapless most annoying citizens. A reality TV show where they are pitted against each other ala battle Royale with the winner's sentence commuted....... until Feb 29th again. Anyway that's my idea. What's yours? Or you can piggy back and tell us who you'd vote for. For the record I'd off Derek Mooney. Dana's failed election attempts give me great mirth and joy.

My birthday is on the 28th of Feb. I'm sick of people saying "oh if you were born a year later you'd be only 5" No It wasnt a leap year when i born. The older i get the mroe it grates on me!

my brother lives with his girlfriend, and is so petrified that she would ask 'the' question today, he got up extra early for work, legged it before she roll over, and has planned to go to his friends house and play playstation until after midnight, then go home. he loves her all the same though!

Pighead proposes that 6th should be given Mod Powers every 29th of Feb. It'd be more than enough to keep the big man happy and little enough so that the rest of us won't notice. Obviously he shouldn't be allowed Mod any of the important forums, that'd just be ridiculous. But maybe we could start a Leap Year forum and make him Mod of that. Everyones a winner.
