    Hi,

    I recently accepted a graduate position with one of the big 4. They are sponsoring me to do a masters.

    However, i have been thinking about this a lot recently and I'm regretting my decision. I received offers from the other Big 4 companies and there is one that I would really like to work for instead.

    Can anyone provide me with advice? Ha anyone else been in a similar position?

    Thanks

    hi - have you actually started the Masters? Or are you only starting this coming September? Assuming you haven't started it yet, I would think it through as follows;

    1. Call the firm whose offer you rejected but now wish to accept and tell them you have reconsidered. ask them if they will still be willing to offer you a position.

    2. call the firm whose offer you accepted and explain to them that your circumstances have changed and you now wish to withdraw your acceptance.

    No. 2 won't be a problem, you have no tie to them as you won't sign your ICAI contract until you start the masters. The issue is whether the other firm will still want you as they may already have filled their quota of places. you have nothing to lose by trying though.

    The thing is - I work in a Big 4 and so do a lot of my friends and we have all had very similar experiences. there isn't an awful lot to choose from, although one of the firms seems to have gotten some bad press lately. good luck!:)

    As a matter of interest, what has changed your mind?
