how are the current gen machines performing for running games on XP?
*whisper it* but I'm considering upgrading my G4. It would be far more tempting if I could get some modestly intensive games working on the machine.

    I'd love to know too...

Gaming is the only thing I would miss if I transferred completely to Apple. I'm considering building a nice Mac Pro, and if the performance was in any way decent I'd do it. I really don't want to buy another Smell. :o

iMacs & MBPs have decent graphics cards, so they'd be ok for medium resolution gaming.
Macbooks & minis would be completely CPU-bound, so unless the game has low graphical requirements, you're snookered.

Mac Pros... well, I'm sure they're GRAAAAAND....

Saw this on youtube. Bioshock seems to run pretty well on a decently spec'd MBP. Will know soon enough when I get my grubby hands on one in a week (or two);)

It seems to run bellow 30fps quite a bit of the time skimming through, For better enjoyment on that spec a mixture of medium/high should suit better

Cod 4 runs pretty smooth on a MBP too. Well, on low settings I think but I was impressed by that fact.

What GFX cards are on Mac Pros these days?
